SocialMedia8 launches five social media channels for Eurojackpot
Eurojackpot is a new lottery game of De Lotto in 7 European countries, among others Germany and Denmark. Thanks to the number of countries involved in the Eurojackpot and depending on the number of sold tickets, the first prize can reach 90 million Euros.
SocialMedia8 was asked to develop, based on the UbachsWisbrun / JWT campaign, the social media strategy with the theme: "It's Friday". Friday is the day people are confused because of the chance of winning 'lots and lots of money'. On the 9th of March a teaser campaign was launched with the twitter channel #hetisvrijdag. Pinterest, Tumblr, Facebook and YouTube followed on the 16th of March.
SocialMedia8, Social Media Agency, part of WPP, is responsible for the content and community management for these five social channels. Next to this, SocialMedia8 is responsible for the outreach to selected blogs and sites. This in combination with the social channels allows SocialMedia8 to gain attention of the audience and spread the message about "It's Friday" theme and the new Eurojackpot lottery.

Eurojackpot is organized in the Netherlands by De Lotto. All proceeds are net of the prize in favor of charities in the field of sport, culture, social welfare and health. Since the founding of De Lotto in 1961 more than 1.3 billion Euros were donated to the Dutch sport.
